The Milwaukee Arts Board Public Art Conservation Fund preserves the city’s public art, with priority given to art works of particular historical, cultural or aesthetic importance. Applications accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.

Funds must be matched and the amount requested may not represent more than 50% of total project expenses. Conservation Grant funds cannot be matched by other City funds.

What Is It?

Public Art Conservation Fund supports conservation projects that promote the development, support and enjoyment of the arts; Promote cultural diversity in the artistic life; promote the formation and growth of artistic projects or programs; promote the design, construction and landscaping of public projects and private buildings, including public and private improvements, that enhance the beauty of the city. Priority will be given to works of historical, cultural or aesthetic importance.

Who Can Apply?

Tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible to apply. Individuals or groups without tax-exempt status must use a fiscal receiver (a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that agrees to receive and account for the funds) for their project.
