Angie Smith (she/her) began serving as Controller at Arts Midwest in 2026. In this role, she leads the organization’s accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, sound internal controls, regulatory compliance, and effective stewardship of organizational resources. Prior to joining Arts Midwest, Angie built an extensive career in accounting and finance, serving in leadership positions across both nonprofit and private-sector organizations, where she gained expertise in financial management, budgeting, audit preparation, tax compliance, and operational accounting.

Angie is passionate about creating efficient financial systems that provide meaningful information for decision-making. She enjoys improving processes and developing procedures that allow staff to focus on advancing Arts Midwest’s mission while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Her collaborative approach helps connect financial management with organizational planning, ensuring that resources are used effectively to support artists, communities, and cultural organizations throughout the region.

Outside of work, Angie can often be found cheering for her five children at their various activities, planning the next family adventure or volunteering in her community where she serves on the local school board and supports several local non-profit organizations. She loves finding opportunities to combine her passion for service with her expertise in finance, helping mission-driven organizations make a lasting impact.
