Jennifer Vosters (she/her) began as a contributing writer for Arts Midwest in 2024 before joining the staff in July 2026. She is passionate about spotlighting the arts that make this region vibrant, and supporting the artists that make it their home.
As a Content Creator, Jennifer collaborates with the Communications team to craft stories showcasing the profound creativity at work in the states and Native Nations here. Some of her favorite projects have included covering the Midwest Culture Bearer Awardees, shouting out fringe festivals, and snagging video footage of Barely Fair.
Along with her work as a writer and editor, Jennifer has been a professional theatre artist for the past ten years. She is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association and the Dramatists Guild. Awards for her theatrical work include the M. Elizabeth Osborn Award from the American Theatre Critics Association. She now lives in Chicago, though her Wisconsin roots run deep (Go Pack Go!).

She believes in the connective power of the arts, especially locally-focused art-making. Her favorite part of her job is connecting with artists who use their creativity to make their communities a better place.
She plays viola and violin and has a soft spot for folk music, work songs, and sea shanties. Her favorite Midwest band is Long Mama.
Jennifer’s cat—Felix Mendelssohn—enjoys taking her on evening walks in the neighborhood, where he gets lots of attention for being “the cat on a leash.”
