Chelsea Brown (she/her) has been working at Arts Midwest since 2018, and is the Operations Manager. Before that, she held roles as an administrative assistant, development associate, and development and database specialist. Prior to Arts Midwest, Chelsea held various other roles in the performing arts including as a freelance stage manager, project manager for a live-event production company, program manager for a children’s performing arts theater, and executive assistant at a theater.

At Arts Midwest, Chelsea spends her days supporting organizational learning and growth by managing data and projects, training staff, and documenting the creative ways we work. She works with other departments across the organization to collaborate on processes and workflows to assure policies, procedures, and data is easy to access and maintain for everyone on staff. She does this by using skills in research, project management, and teamwork that she gained from her years of management experience in the performing arts.

Chelsea also serves as co-accessibility coordinator, helping further Arts Midwest’s commitment to accessibility by serving as internal point of contact related to accessibility needs or issues.

A little more about Chelsea:

Chelsea’s favorite Midwestern artist is creative botanist and self-proclaimed mad scientist Tyler Thrasher. She is energized by creativity in the intersection of art, nature, science, and technology.

When Chelsea isn’t working, she can be found working on home improvement projects in her 90-year-old house, trying new recipes in the kitchen, or growing veggies in her garden.
