Barter Theatre’s production of Romeo and Juliet will engage students in rural Appalachia in conversation about division in community, and how human love & rage hold power to exacerbate or soften those divisions. Barter will offer 15 performances to over 1,000 students from 14 schools across SW Virginia and NE Tennessee. A study guide and talkbacks will be offered, and an option of in-school or virtual workshops will encourage exploration of students? own experiences as they relate to the play.
