La Grande Bande

Gaylord, MN

GIG Fund

FY2024

About

La Grande Bande seeks funding to bring natural horn specialist Nathanael Udell to Minnesota for our “Supper & Songs” Casual Concert program, which will be performed May 2024 in restaurants in Arlington and Minneapolis, MN. Nathanael will be the featured soloist for a concerto by Georg Phillip Telemann and will perform as part of the ensemble on the full program. In addition to the concert performances, Nathanael will talk about his instrument, the natural horn, a rarely heard early music instrument and precursor to the modern french horn. He will perform at outreach events for music students in Sibley East High School and for the public at the Gaylord Public Library. These events and the Arlington concert performance will take place in rural communities in South-Central, MN, an area of MN where residents have few chances to experience live classical music.
