About

Jay Julio is an accomplished 25-year-old first-generation Filipino-American, a multi-instrumentalist, teacher, and composer-arranger based in NYC, a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, The Juilliard School, and orchestra fellow at USC, affiliated with the Philadelphia Orchestra, American Composers Orchestra, Metropolis Ensemble, Dallas Symphony and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. Featured solo musicians are a hallmark of the Marquette Symphony and our geographically underserved community and are always greeted with enthusiasm. The performance lasts approximately two hours with intermission. Together with Maestro Octavio Más-Arocas, our versatile, dynamic, and award-winning conductor, they will also hold a masterclass and lecture for Northern Michigan University and Marquette High School musicians. Más-Arocas also selected the Florence Price piece to promote diversity and highlight excellence from lesser-known composers.
