The Allegan Chapter of the K'zoo Folklife Organization

Allegan, MI

GIG Fund

FY2024

About

We offer 4 free, 2 hour concerts throughout the winter. The name of our project is The Midwest/Folklife Gig Series. We bring in bands that offer cultural experiences through music, professional artists and bands that are vetted prior to hiring them. The volunteers of the church provide a coffee, snack, meet and greet for the community and the musicians after the concert. We ask for donations at the door and have a non-profit from the area represented. Donations collected are given to the organization or non profit. Advertising requirements are met through social media, word of mouth, flyers. The 1st Presbyterian Church will hosts the concerts. In previous years we have held concerts at the church and it is not unusual to have people from 30 different cities attend. The Presbyterian Church meets our in-kind funding match. The bands for our 2024 project will cost $3,700.00 Any weather-related concert cancellations are made up at a later date. $300.00 to help with promoting.
