The Detroit Metro Times is a progressive alternative weekly located in Detroit, Michigan. It is the largest circulating weekly newspaper in the metro Detroit area. They do in-depth coverage of arts, culture, and creativity. 

As part of the Creative Midwest Media Cohort, Detroit Metro Times plans to enhance their social media presence by producing and publishing high-quality videos to run alongside their “Artist of the Week” series and arts cover stories. These stories highlight local artists in their studios or their current art exhibitions, and other arts-related topics.

Led by 2 experienced teaching artists, “Shakesprov” explores themes and illuminates Shakespeare’s texts in a modern context through improvisation, theatre exercises, and storytelling. Youth learn acting skills, gain confidence, and develop an appreciation for theatre and the arts.
