About

In April 2025, as part of the 2024-2025 Main Stage Season, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will present six educational matinee performances of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” for 1,400 seventh – twelfth grade students from across the Greater Cincinnati region. Alongside performances, students will receive pre- and post-show discussions, backstage tours, workshops, and in-school residencies.

This Big Read provides public exchange of ideas, creative outlets and lifelong learning opportunities.

    PLMVKC celebrates Charles Yu’s Interior: Chinatown with book discussions and on our “What Are You Reading?” podcast; a Teen Makerspace craft series; prose, poetry, and screenwriting workshops with Ira Sukrungruang, Cindy Ok, Jon Tazewell and Hao Zhou; dance, foodways and martial arts demos and more! PLMVKC will host an author visit at Woodward Opera House, with Lion Dancers and a community meal.

    Ohio

    The Fitz Center for Leadership in Community at the University of Dayton, in collaboration with Dayton Metro Library, Daybreak Dayton, the African American Visual Artists Guild, and the Paul Laurence Dunbar House Historic Site, will offer assorted public programming in conjunction with a community-wide reading of Yaa Gyasi’s book, “Homegoing,” from September 18, 2024, through May 18, 2025.
