Eastend will host a series of exhibitions and community conversations called Expanding Awareness Through Visual Art. This project will engage our audience and the larger Marshall and Calhoun County population in conversations around the specific challenges and joys faced by these artists and their communities. As in so many fields, art history views visual art from a mostly white and Western-centric lens. Expanding Awareness Through Visual Art will highlight marginalized voices and stories that have often been hidden from our larger visual art narrative.
