Iraqi Canadian artist asmaa al-issa will take part in the multimedia exhibition “Today, Tomorrow”, showcasing 21 Iraqi identifying artists reclaiming historic narratives, redefining legacies, and imagining possibilities. The exhibition, co-presented by The Iraqi and American Reconciliation Project will be held at the Anderson Center’s new gallery space in Red Wing, Minnesota, from February 2 to April 20. We will organize a hybrid artist talk on February 2nd, where asmaa will delve deeper into her work and engage with the audience in discussions. Following this talk, we will host an exhibition reception accompanied by an in-person meet and greet with asmaa. Additionally, we will plan a presentation and discussion in both English and Arabic in Minneapolis on February 1st with asmaa (venue to be determined) in order for Twin Cities audiences to explore and engage with asmaa’s work, providing an alternative for those who may find traveling to Red Wing less accessible.
