We plan to highlight the importance of elevating a community with visual arts by having professional artists lead workshops to teach various groups and individuals – for example, school/church organizations, veterans programs, scout/youth leadership programs, senior citizens, people with disabilities – to create art for public spaces. Workshops will be offered to anyone throughout our rural county of fewer than 60,000 residents. We want to reach people of all ages and from varied backgrounds, bringing them together to celebrate art and beautify their community. We are teaming up with another local non-profit, Artists Open Studio (AOS), on this project. AOS provides arts access to adult artists with disabilities.
