Casa de Rosado’s mission is to provide opportunities to Michigan’s Latinx/Hispanic visual & performance artists. On Saturday November 4th Lansing’s 27th Día de Los Muertos celebration invites ballet folklorico groups to perform. Mexican folklorico dancers take the stage, providing attendees with a beautiful and energetic performance. Day of the Dead celebrations allow our community to remember their departed loved ones in a joyous annual ceremony. Numerous community members adorn elaborate tables with photos, flowers, handcrafted and elaborately decorated sugar skulls, handmade papel cempasuchil ( a traditional Mexican floral craft), candles and a loved one’s favorite foods. A portion of the funds we raise goes towards space use & sound & stage equipment rental while the rest funds our headline dance group: Ballet Folklorico de Detroit, the premiere folklorico group of Michigan led by Kellogg Fellow Lance Rodriguez.
