The Department of Public Transformation (DoPT) requests funds to support two events in the year-long WE CAN! Event Series. The Event Series will offer our region a courageous cultural calendar of art exhibitions, new media projects, performances, creative workshops, and artist-led networking events that are initiated, organized, and led by DoPT’s Women’s Empowerment Creative Action Network (WE CAN!), a collective of female / non-binary artists based in Southwestern Minnesota. All events will feature regional artists that are typically underrepresented: rural BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), LGBTQIA+, female, and non-binary artists, with the goal of increasing visibility and amplifying their creative work.
