A disabled artist, selected by guest curator and disabled artist Matthew Bodett, will attend the Good Hart Artist Residency in June 2024. Our studio building is ADA compliant and the residency building is designed to be accessible on the first floor. This artist will receive full room and board, a $500 stipend and offered additional funding up to $1,500 to meet their disability needs. Additionally, we will pay the guest curator $700 for his work in identifying the artist. The artist will engage in a community event in partnership with a local nonprofit; the exact nature of this event will be developed once the artist is selected in order to make the most of their voice, but options include an artist talk, workshop, or art demonstration. The artist will also offer an open studio event at the residency, accessible to the public. The audience for both events is our rural community, which has little exposure to disabled voices, especially in the arts.
