The Common Ground performance series will include quality artistic experiences as well as connections to vital community resources. While created as a monthly series, KIA requests funding from Arts Midwest to support the first and second performances?the inaugural launch events. The sessions will feature local performing underrepresented artists of color (TBD). This emphasis will create a realistic and relatable experience for the audience members who are also underserved. The featured artists will showcase their talents while inviting audience members to actively participate in a hands-on activity. Following their solo performance, a vocalist will lead the audience in song; a dancer will offer movement instruction; a visual artist will lead participants through the exercise of creating their own artwork; and so on.
