KIA serves the African American community by offering clean entertainment the entire family can enjoy. KIA’s commitment to serving historically marginalized communities is at the core of the organization’s vision by increasing awareness and appreciation for BIPOC performing artist who diverse range of talents brings enduring change to the Columbus creative ecosystem, KIA uplifts communities unaccustomed to seeing their histories and voices reflected in the performing arts. Performances are held at the KIA performance center and will exclusively include BIPOC performing artists with a devoted following and allowing the artist to share the intentionality for their creative work in a facilitated discussion before their concert. The concerts are held in a underserved neighborhood with a average income of less than $38,000/household. KIA will host monthly concerts, scheduled the 4th Saturday of each month and anticipates each concert reaching approximately 100 attendees.
