This project is the continuation of our Shakespeare program at Alameda Juvenile Hall. We use drama-therapy inspired theatre exercises, and work with youth to study and perform Shakespeare monologues and write their own response to Shakespeare, building self-confidence, expanding creativity, and giving traumatized youth belief in their ability to achieve. Our lead Teaching Artists Dameion Brown and Tony Cyprien are inspirational mentors who share the students? lived experience of incarceration.
