This project is the continuation of our Shakespeare program at Alameda Juvenile Hall. We use Drama Therapy-inspired theatre exercises, and work with youth to study and perform Shakespeare monologues and write their own response to Shakespeare, building self-confidence, expanding creativity, and giving traumatized youth belief in their ability to achieve. Teaching Artists Dameion Brown and Tony Cyprien are inspirational mentors who share the students? lived experience of incarceration.
