Opera Western Reserve’s Emerging Artists will perform a mini mainstage performance, bring the opera to local schools through an opera tour, and close the season with a public spring concert. First, the mini mainstage performance will occur on November 17, 2023 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center in downtown Youngstown. This will be a concert open to all interested schools. This mini mainstage will be a condensed version of Bizet’s Carmen, and it will seek to educate students on opera related topics. Students will be given the opportunity to interact with the Emerging Artists through a Q & A session. Second, the Emerging Artists will visit multiple schools throughout the region, creating more accessibility to the arts by bringing opera to the children. Third, a public spring concert will be held at Stambaugh Auditorium. This concert will be targeted toward children and will educate all audience members on opera concepts.
