Shakespeare in the Courts serves adjudicated and other at-risk youth from disadvantaged communities in Berkshire County, MA. Over an rigorous six-week period, these young people, who struggle with anger management, family dynamics, violence, and emotional detachment, work with trained artist educators to learn Shakespeare, boost their self-esteem, and expand their sense of community and cooperation. At the program?s end, the participants perform scenes from selected plays for family and friends.
