The Buckeye Flame amplifies the voices of LGBTQ+ Ohioans to support community and civic empowerment through the creation of engaging content that chronicles their triumphs, struggles, and lived experiences.
As part of the Creative Midwest Media Cohort, The Buckeye Flame will profile rural Ohio artists and organizations within the LGBTQ+ community through interviews, articles, podcasts, and video reporting. They will focus on the counties in Ohio that they have not yet had the capacity to cover. They will also produce the “This News is So Gay: An LGBTQ+ Reporters Roundtable” podcast, creating a forum for LGBTQ+ journalists to gather for panel discussions.
