About

As part of the first-ever Ridges & Rivers Book Festival, to be held in Viroqua, Wis., in late April/early May 2023, the Driftless Writing Center in partnership with the McIntosh Memorial Library will host writer and performer Dasha Kelly Hamilton for a daytime youth workshop and an evening all-ages performance of “Makin’ Cake.” Ms. Kelly Hamilton’s “Makin’ Cake” is an exploration of US history, race, culture, and gender, using the metaphor of cake baking, followed by a community conversation. The youth event will welcome up to 75 area high school students for a writing workshop with Ms. Kelly Hamilton.
