Twin Cities Jazz Festival’s (TCJF’s) mission is to bring communities together to enjoy and appreciate the art form of Jazz and inspire new generations of youth. For 26 years, TCJF has pursued this mission and work through year-round programming, and partnerships focused on the East Metro and broader Twin Cities metro area, culminating in a festival set in St. Paul’s Lowertown neighborhood. In response to COVID-19 pandemic-related safety precautions, TCJF developed a free, live-streamed series that attracted a worldwide audience, as well. With every program and partnership, TCJF aims to help make the art form of Jazz accessible to new and returning fans. Funds from the GIG Fund would go toward the artist fee for the Regina Carter Quartet, who will headline the Jazz Fest on June 22, 2024. Ms Carter will also lead a master class with young musicians, inspiring jazz masters of the future.
