This project engages Marcie Rendon, a McKnight Distinguished Artist Award recipient and award-winning author of crime fiction. By presenting her work to the WBCA community, Marcie will expand her audience, engage with a new community of readers, and bring her expertise directly to individuals within the criminal justice system. This project promotes the work of a socially-conscious Minnesota artist and explores socially relevant issues, such as the depiction of underrepresented communities in genre fiction, and ethics and power dynamics in storytelling.
