FWDC’s 2024 Guest Artist in Residence, Ailey II, will visit Fort Wayne to engage and inspire the northeast Indiana community through the movement arts. This year’s residency will include a public performance and artist talkback at the Embassy Theatre, two master classes to serve dancers of all skill levels, and a presentation to local Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) students during the academic day. Activities offered in collaboration with FWCS will reach underserved youth in our community; 61.6% of FWCS students are BIPOC, 65.9% come from economically disadvantaged households, and 16.9% of FWCS students have a disability. All residency activities will take place in accessible venues, and participants who have a disability are encouraged to reach out to request additional accommodations as needed.
